Putting together my Ryder Cup team from a pool of local golfers | Advertiser-Tribune Davis Love III is this year's U.S. Ryder Cup captain. Eight golfers qualified on points and Love gets to select four captain's picks to round out the team. He has announced three of his choices with the fourth TBD. As I watch this year's Ryder Cup team unfold, I couldn't help but wonder what it would be like to be in Davis Love's position. Who would you pick, and why? Then it occurred to me that I could select his last player. Better yet, I could choose my own team. Not from PGA touring pros, but from local golfers. So that is what I am going to do.
