Four golfers make up the typical scramble team, and each will get to hit a tee shot. The group then advances to the best shot where each will get to hit another shot. This is repeated for each shot until the ball is deposited in the cup. The beauty of the format, other than the fact that typically you will shoot a much better score than playing your own ball, is that one's bad shots don't count.
