GIRLS BASKETBALL: Alexis Keegan and Jackie Smith combined to score 34 points Wednesday in a 58-49 Clyde win over Oak Harbor at Toledo Bowsher in the opening round of the Division II district tournament. Keegan had 18 points, while Smith contributed 16. Madison Bannister added seven points for the Fliers. Clyde led 32-24 at the half and outscored the Rockets 17-11 in the fourth to secure the victory. Kaitlin Paul led the way for Oak Harbor with 19 points, while Sophia Eli tacked on 15 and Ryann Steinbrick ended with 11. The Fliers will take on Wauseon Saturday at 8 p.m. at Bowsher.
BOYS JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL: Pandora-Gilboa’s seventh grade topped Hopewell-Loudon 46-32 in the BVC Tournament. Blake Berrier led the Chieftains with 15 points, while Caden Ritchey tacked on seven points.
BOYS FRESHMAN BASKETBALL: Liberty-Benton got past Hopewell-Loudon 51-38. Tyler Fedele led H-L with 13 points, while Walker Suter added eight.
n Clyde beat Sandusky 54-38.
BOYS JV BASKETBALL: Mohawk downed Lakota 44-34 as Trey Combs dropped in 13 points for Mohawk.
n New Riegel defeated Gibsonburg 54-47. Will Hershman dropped in 16 points, while Joe Tiell (14) and Logan Schalk (11) both added double-figure scoring for the Blue Jackets.
n Clyde edged Sandusky 64-61 in overtime.
