Second quarter key for Eagles

KANSAS — Monroeville’s defense clamped down in the second quarter and held Lakota at bay from there Tuesday to claim a 54-43 win.

The Eagles (5-6) led just 11-8 at the first stop, but outscored Lakota 14-2 in the second period. Lakota (0-10) outscored Monroeville 33-29 from there.

Isaac Roeder paced Monroeville with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Cody Shaffer added 11 points and Mason Toneli tossed in nine.

Carter Reinhart keyed the Raiders with 18 points and five boards. Josh Matz scored seven points.
