Columbian thrives in road match against Crestline

CRESTLINE — Columbian thrived in a road match Tuesday, shutting out Crestline, 5-0.

Casey Knutson got things going for Columbian ain the No. 1 singles match, 6-0, 6-0. Tornadoes No. 2 singles player, Anna Stephey, won her match, 6-4, 6-6 (3-7, 10-6). The Bulldogs forfeited the third singles match, while at first doubles, the Columbian team of Erin Musil and Linzi Boos won 6-1, 6-0.

In the second doubles match, the Tornadoes’ team of Morgan Amory and Whitney Johnston won 6-1, 6-0.

Fliers take care

of Lady Red

CLYDE — Clyde evened its overall record and improved to 3-1 in the Sandusky Bay Conference Lake with a 4-0 win over Bellevue. The Fliers won the four matches that were completed; the second doubles match was stopped by rain.

The Fliers were cruising in each doubles match. In the first one, Mary Wilkerson and Emma Strudthoff took down the Lady Red’s Sage Garcia and Perla Monreal, 6-1, 6-0. At second doubles, Clyde’s team of Klara Miller and Alyssa Lauer had a 6-4, 3-1 edge when weather set in.

In the first singles match, Clyde’s Lakotah Cagle defeated Rayven Whyde, 6-0, 6-0. At second singles, the Fliers’ Siera Hisey defeated Ella Little, 6-1, 6-0. At third singles, Clyde’s Madi Bannister topped Kaitlyn Cullen, 6-0, 6-0.
