Calvert takes care of Bulldogs

Calvert dominated Crestline at Heidelberg Tuesday, shutting out the Bulldogs, 5-0.

In singles matches, the Senecas’ Madison Daniel defeated Xena Humphrey 6-2, 6-1, while Calvert’s Laura Haley beat Crestline’s Hope Martin 6-2, 6-0. Calvert’s No. 3 singles player, Samantha Gase, won her match by default.

In doubles play, Calvert’s Nicole Fretz and Bradlee Warnement teamed to beat Megan Bartholomew and Kaitlyn Stull, 6-1, 6-0. The Senecas’ second doubles team of Gabby Bennett and Mikayla Dariano beat Olivia Dowell and Lauren Williams.

Redmen take all 3 singles matches, beat TC

BELLEVUE – Bellevue won all three of Tuesday’s singles matches against Columbian, and knocked off the Tornadoes 4-1.

TC’s lone victory came in doubles play, where Sam Krintzline and Eden Stephey got past Dani Dean and Emily Becks, 3-6, 6-4, 7-5.

Tornadoes’ coach Ellen Smith called the victory a “very close and gripping match.”

Bellevue won the second doubles match, as Elidia Veliz and Elizabeth Harper got past Dallas Harper and Bri Goodman, 6-1, 6-3.

The Redmen clinched the match in singles play. Julie Steinmetz beat Columbian’s Julianne Peacock, 6-2, 6-2; Mandee Darr upended Olivia Smith 6-1, 6-0. In the third singles match, Bernadette Wolfe got pas Hannah Hawk 6-1, 2-6, 6-0.

St. Joe blanks Redmen

FREMONT – Fremont St. Joe never surrendered a game Tuesday in whitewashing Fostoria 5-0. The Crimson Streaks claimed four matches by 6-0, 6-0 scores and took another via forfeit.

Ashley Burns beat Jessica Kauffman at No. 1 singles, Tricia Reinhart downed Sabra Tate at No. 2 and Danielle Baez defeated Cierra Valenti at No. 3.

Lillian Cool and Kayla Sherman shutout Ellen Gao and Destinie Farris at No. 1 doubles.
