Kirian, New Riegel steamroll Stockaders

OLD FORT – Taylor Kirian’s pitches kept Old Fort in check. Her bat made sure the Stockaders stayed there.

Kirian went 4 for 4 with three homers, a triple, four runs and seven RBIs Monday as New Riegel thumped Midland Athletic League foe Old Fort 15-3.

The senior also scattered four hits and two walks over four innings to improve to 21-4 in the circle.

Even without her offensive numbers, the Blue Jackets (22-4, 8-1 MAL) had plenty of power.

Morgan Noftz drilled a homer and scored two other times, Lauren Zoeller had a homer and two RBIs and Elyssa Theis went 3 for 3 with two RBIs as part of team’s 18-hit attack.

Taylor Arbogast and Leah Bouillon each added two singles and Kara Scherger scored twice and singled.

Alyssa Pence (6-6) suffered the loss for the Stockaders (11-11, 3-5).

Peyton Miller doubled and scored for Old Fort and Mackenzie Ward singled and drove in a run.

Chieftains blank Calvert

BASCOM – Hopewell-Loudon scored a pair of runs in the first inning and held Calvert at bay from there Monday for a 2-0 Midland Athletic League win.

Kelsey Coppus (3-12) got the win, scattering two hits and three walks for the Chieftains (4-18, 1-5 MAL).

Makayla Wilson singled twice and scored for H-L and Kassie Welly singled and scored. Emma Kirby and Sierra Beers also both singled.

Nicole Bickley took the loss for the Senecas (8-10, 1-7).

Kate Brickner and Gabby Bennett both singled.

Warriors romp past TC

Ontario led 5-0 after the top of the second and coasted from there Monday to beat Northern Ohio League foe Columbian 9-1.

Brittany DuMonte scored the lone run for the Tornadoes (2-20) and belted a double and single.

Alexis Glick also doubled. Morgan Schalk took the loss against the Warriors.
