Buckeye Central takes D-4 sectional crown

ONTARIO- Buckeye Central made an emphatic statement about who was the deserving sectional champions as it powered past St. Peter’s, 70-58.

After a 32-26 lead at the half, Buckeye Central continued to put the pressure on St. Peter’s opening the second half with a 16-8 run.

The 10 point advantage at the start of the fourth period proved too much for St. Peter’s to overcome.

The Spartans rallied back, outscoring the Bucks 24-22 in the final quarter, but Buckeye Central’s consistent play throughout the game became the difference maker and extended its season.

Grant Loy led the charge for the Bucks, scoring 16 points and led the team in rebounds with 10. Five Buckeye Central players also had double-digit performances. Austin Wurm backed Loy with 14 points, while Stone Wurm added 14. Cade Kaple put up 12 and went 6 for 7 at the line. Sam Robertson chipped in an additional 11 points toward the Bucks sectional final win.
