Calvert’s Harris, Tiell headed to district
Calvert sophomores Corinne Harris and Katie Tiell will compete Friday in the Division II district swim meet at Cleveland State University.
The pair competed Saturday at the sectional meet, but had to wait until Sunday to learn their postseason fate. The top 30 at-large individuals and top 20 at-large relays advanced out of the sectionals.
It’s a return trip to the district for both.
Harris enters this year’s district with the top seed in the 200 freestyle after winning the sectional in 1:58.97. She is also seeded sixth in the 100 free (55.13).
Tiell enters 11th in both the 200 free (2:07.07) and 500 free (5:44.04).
“They both demonstrated that their hard work paid off with personal best times at sectionals,” Calvert coach Tori Harris said. “I could not be prouder of their dedication and performances so far this season.”
