Bonham wins debut as Columbian coach

It was a successful debut on the bench for Bill Bonham at Columbian. The Tornadoes hosted Hopewell-Loudon and came away with a 25-19, 25-16, 25-9 victory.

Alyssa Price helped out TC all over, recording 13 assists, four aces, 10 kills, four blocks, four digs.

Haley Sendelbach pounded 15 kills and eight blocks, Tessa Fuhrer tallied 16 assists and four aces, Taylor Reinbolt turned in 11 digs and four kills and Maddie Williams had five kills, three aces and six digs.

Hopewell-Loudon was led by Courtney Burns’ double-double. The senior slammed 10 kills while also dishing out 10 assists. She also added five digs and three blocks.

Kassie Shaver had five kills and five digs while Kassie Welly had 10 assists and five digs. Baleigh Searles led the defense with 10 digs.

Ladd leads NR?triumph

NEW RIEGEL – It was the season-opener, but New Riegel already looked in mid-season form Saturday, dominating visiting Margaretta 25-9, 25-8, 25-16.

Lauren Ladd led the charge with 19 kills while also dishing out six assists. Taylor Arbogast chipped in 10 kills. Morgan Noftz handed out 29 assists while Natalie Reinhart served three aces.

Defensively, Brittany Gillig had 18 digs and Kara Scherger had 16.

Devilish domination

CAREY – If you add up Vanlue’s scores for its entire match against Carey, it still wouldn’t have been enough to win a game. Carey dominated the Wildcats to open up the season 25-6, 25-3, 25-7.

The Blue Devils had 21 team aces, seven of which came from Mackenzie Wentling and five from Sydney Wentling. Sydney Wentling also added 19 assists.

Shelby Kinn slammed down eight kills and added three blocks. Shelby Seifert chipped in five kills.
