Mohawk drops Ridgemont

SYCAMORE – Grant Gucker doubled, scored and drove in two runs, leading Mohawk over Ridgemont, 9-6.

Mohawk did its offensive damage despite being limited to just five hits in the win. Wes Shaw singled and drove in two runs, while Eric Maskey doubled, scored and had an RBI.

Austin Shock picked up his first win of the season. He allowed nine hits over a full seven innings, striking out six and walking two as the Warriors improved to 6-14. The Gophers slipped to 3-15.

Kirkwood powers Sandusky past Columbian

SANDUSKY – The easiest part of baseball’s cycle to obtain is the single. But that was all that stood between Sandusky’s Domonic Kirkwood and the achievement. Kirkwood homered, tripled and doubled while driving in five runs and scoring three in Sandusky’s 10-2 win over Columbian.

Columbian was led by Mike Rohrbach who had a pair of doubles along with a single, and drove in two runs. Jeff Crawford and Vince Anway scored runs.

Columbian drops to 8-12, 2-6 Northern Ohio League.

Bucks ice game with Northmor

NEW WASHINGTON – A two-run lead just wasn’t enough for Buckeye Central to take into the last inning against Northmor. The Bucks put the game out of reach scoring five runs in the sixth to down Northmor 9-2.

Austin Lutz picked up the win, pitching the first four innings allowing three hits and one unearned run. He helped his own cause at the plate with a double, two singles and an RBI.

Jordan Herrnstein tripled and drove in a run while Eric Hanes singled, doubled and drove in a run. Bryce Christy and Seth Ollis also added RBIs.

Grant Loy pitched the final three innings to earn the save.

The Bucks improve to 10-14 on the year.
