Columbian track teams fall in dual with Oak Harbor

OAK HARBOR – Oak Harbor swept both halves of a dual Thursday, with the girls beating Columbian 113-23 and boys downing TC, 111-26.

Columbian’s Amanda Schwartz won the girls 1,600 (6:36.49), while Chandler Carley (9-0), Erika Shultz (8-0) and Jordyn Aragon (7-6) went 1-2-3 in the pole vault.

Columbian’s boys wins came from Nick Fitch in the 200 (25.86) and Scott Bryan in the 400 (1:00.95), Tyler Mesnard in the 3,200 (11:38.98).

Ross nets win from TC

Columbian fell to 1-2 on the year Thursday when Fremont Ross beat the Tornadoes, 4-1, in non-league boys tennis.

Mason McCool and John Obringer dumped Brandon Berry and Hunter Stark, 6-1, 4-6, 6-2, in No. 1 doubles for Columbian’s only win.

In the other doubles match, Nate Rellinger and Connor Martin beat Brandon Berry and Hunter Stark, 6-2, 7-5.

In singles play, Robert Joerg defeated Nick Gaietto, 6-3, 6-0; Taran Rodriguez dispatched Braden Kuhn, 6-1, 6-2; and Gaeten Brugger beat Austin Crabtree, 6-3, 6-1.
