Columbian boys take second in Findlay quad

FINDLAY The Columbian boys were burning rubber Friday night at the Findlay Cooper Tire Trojan Quad.

The Tornadoes finished second to Findlay, 106-80, with Toledo Rogers (48) and Wapakoneta (36) finishing behind them.

The Columbian girls track team didn’t fare as well with Wapakoneta winning the meet with 84 points followed by the Trojans (70), Rogers (62) and Tornadoes (51).

Columbian’s boys teamed up to win the 4×200 relay (1:38.52) and 4×100 relay (46.26). Josh Flint was the lone individual to win for the Tornadoes, taking first in the long jump (19-7 ). Donovan Walker was second in the 100 dash (11.72) and the long jump (18-10). Colin Covell was second in the triple jump (37-4) and Caleb Peacock was third in the high jump (6-2). Tyler Lewis and Brandon Gibson stayed together in the 1,600 and 3,200 runs, finishing second and third, respectively, in both races. Brock Riggs was second in the shot with a heave of 42-10 while Codey Chance was third in that event (40-4 ) as well as discus (116-1).

For the girls, Chandler Carley took first in the pole vault (9-0), followed by her teammates Julia Hohman (7-0) and Jordyn Aragon. Carley was also part of the winning 4×200 relay team, joining Tara Baker, Annie Demith and McKenna Theis, to finish in 1:54.09. That same group was second in the 4×100 as well with a time of 55.07.

Demith was second in the 400 (1:05.55) and Theis was third in the 100 dash (13.81) as was Alexis Desjardins in the 3,200 run (14:02.47). Ari Felton was second (30-9 ) and Chelsea Depinet third (29-1) in the shot put.
