BOYS JV BASKETBALL: Chris Anstead scored 14 points and Maison Steyer had 10 in Old Fort’s 42-37 win over Gibsonburg.

n Oak Harbor topped Columbian 43-34 behind 13 points from Deshawn Johnson. Derek Bell led Columbian with 10 points. Jake Adams chipped in nine.

GIRLS JV BASKETBALL: Mohawk beat Riverdale 33-19, thanks to 13 points from Ally Weinandy and nine from Allison Park.

n Milan Edison upended Seneca East 40-36. Megan Dunnavant scored 10 points for Edison. The Tigers got 15 points and seven rebounds from Paige Reichert, and 11 points from Amy Martin.

n Meghan Reiter’s 19 points fueled St. Wendelin’s 44-41 win over Sandusky St. Mary. Kaylee Bastien scored 11 points for St. Mary.

n Lake turned away Fostoria 37-25.

BOYS FRESHMAN BASKETBALL: Norwalk topped Columbian 46-31. Columbian was led by Cole Johnson with 10 points. Ben Schank added six.

GIRLS FRESHMAN BASKETBALL: Milan Edison downed Seneca East 42-22.

BOYS JUNIOR HIGH BASKETBALL: Hunter Clouse scored 11 points in Mohawk’s 41-27 seventh grade win over Lakota. Cole Miller netted nine points for the Warriors and Tyler Tusing had eight.

SENECA ARROWS BASKETBALL: The Seneca Arrows will hold their homecoming game Jan. 24 at 6:30 p.m. against Crawford County at the Seneca County Opportunity Center gym. COLUMBIAN ATHLETIC BOOSTERS: There will be a meeting at 7 p.m. today at the cafeteria.

TIFFIN UNIVERSITY SOFTBALL: The program will hold a spring hitting league at TU’s indoor batting cages at Hanson Physical Fitness Center on Miami Street. There will be hitting instruction followed by team and individual scoring systems. Form your own four-player team or sign up as an individual and be placed on a team. It takes place Jan. 27, Feb. 3 and Feb. 10. Fourth through seventh grade will be from 4-5:15 p.m., while eighth through 12th graders will be from 5:30-7 p.m. Each group is limited to 28 athletes, seven teams. SENECA EAST: Seneca East will host a spaghetti dinner Jan. 19 before the start of the boys basketball game against Bellevue. The dinner starts at 4:30 p.m. and runs until the start of the JV game at 6 p.m. Dinner includes spaghetti, salad, roll and a drink. Cost is $6 for adults and $5 for students with all proceeds going to the Seneca East Athletic Department. Tickets can be bought in the main office, or can be pre-ordered from any Seneca East athlete. At halftime of the game, the boys cross country team will be presented with its state championship rings.

n The 2013 Columbian Youth Baseball Skills Camp is Jan. 19 from 9 a.m.-noon for all Tiffin City School boys in grades 2-5. The camp is at the Columbian High gymnasium and the Old Fort Bank Fitness Center. Registration is $10 per camper and includes a T-shirt. Campers should bring a glove and bat if they have one.
