Thanks from Y-Wives

The Tiffin Y-Wives would like to thank all those who helped make the 2018 annual Holiday Extravaganza a huge success. This year, we raised funds to help support our Tiffin YMCA and community in accordance with the YMCA mission.

A special “thank you” is sent to all the Y-Wives members who gave so generously of their time and talents to make this event a success. Officers and chairpersons who contributed to the success included Jackie Fletcher, Margot Ardner, Peggy Wolf, Debbie Gerschutz and Brenda Brown. The Extravaganza co-chairpersons were Angie Dornauer, Deena Smith, Denise Ventrone and Martha Roberts.

Thanks again to Tiffin University and Heidelberg University baseball players, other students and their faculty leaders for helping the vendors set up for the event and tear down after the event. Our vendors love the extra help.

Santa (Randall Groves) helped more than 2,000 visitors get in the holiday spirit. Reineke Family Dealerships donated the use of a beautiful van to help transport visitors and vendors from parking lots to the event. Again, National Machinery donated the use of their parking lot to help alleviate congestion around the YMCA. The Advertiser-Tribune, with Nicole Walby, published an excellent article about this community event. Seneca News Daily provided a promotional article about our featured vendor, Maureen Wise. WTTF helped market over the airways and internet with live coverage of the event. Our radio spots were sponsored by Reineke Family Dealerships, Subway of Tiffin, Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, Edward Jones office of Elaine Daugherty and Journey Group.

The luncheon was supported by Hempy Water, Ralph’s Joy of Living and Smith’s Foods. Grand Rental discounted charges for tables and chairs. The following businesses allowed Y-Wives Holiday Extravaganza signs to be placed in front of their businesses for six weeks: Ed Lape of State Farm Insurance; P.T. Services; Old Fort Banking Co.; Carrie Fletcher-Clock, DDS; Shaver Window Cleaning; and Robert J. Dornauer, DDS, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

A special thanks must be given to the YMCA staff, who helped make this community event memorable. This event kicks off the holiday season.

Thanks to our vendors and all who attended to make this 2018 event a success.

Angie Dornauer,

Extravaganza co-chair
