Holiday Extravaganza raises funds for YMCA

The Tiffin Y-Wives would like to thank all those who helped make the 2017 Holiday Extravaganza a huge success. This year, we raised funds to help support our Tiffin YMCA and community in accordance with the YMCA mission.

A special “thank you” is sent to all the Y-Wives members who gave so generously of their time and talents to make this event a success. Our lunch crew, lead by Martha Roberts, created a delicious lunch for the visitors. Other committee chairwomen who contributed to the success included: Jackie Fletcher, Lynn Reino, Margot Ardner and Denise Ventrone. The Extravaganza co-chairwomens were Angie Dornauer and Deena Smith.

Thanks again to Tiffin University and Heidelberg University baseball players, other students and their faculty leaders for helping the vendors set up for the event and tear down after the event. Our vendors love the extra help. Our lunch volunteers appreciate the students’ help.

Santa (Randall Groves) helped more than 2,000 visitors get in the holiday spirit. Coppus Motors donated the use of their beautiful vans to help transport visitors and vendors from the parking to the event. Again, National Machinery donated the use of its parking lot to help alleviate congestion around the YMCA. The Advertiser-Tribune, with Nicole Walby, published an excellent article about this community event. Seneca News Daily provided a promotional article. WTTF helped market over the airways and internet with interviews. Our radio spots were sponsored by Reineke Family Dealerships, Subway of Tiffin, Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory, Edward Jones Office of Elaine Daugherty, Primitive Crossroads Craft Barn and Huston Insurance.

The luncheon was supported by Aldi’s, Hempy Water, Ralph’s Joy of Living, TPC Food Service, Ballreich’s and Ones Center. Grand Rental Station discounted charges for tables and chairs. The following businesses allowed Y-Wives Holiday Extravaganza signs to be placed in front of their businesses for six weeks: Ed Lape of State Farm Insurance, P.T. Services, Old Fort Bank, Carrie Fletcher-Clock DDS, Shaver Window Cleanin, and Robert J. Dornauer DDS, Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery.

A special thanks must be given to Steve Crone and the YMCA staff, including John Matthews, Chris Granata and Steve Wise, who helped make this community event memorable. This event kicks off the holiday season.

Thanks to our vendors and all who attended to make this 2017 event a success.

Angie Dornauer,

Extravaganza co-chairwoman
