Count your blessings
“Count your blessings, name them one by one,” is how one old hymn goes. As we wind down the year 2013, and look forward to a new year, I believe it is appropriate to look at some of the blessings we have as members of the Tiffin community.
We an know our neighbor, grocer, banker, baker, store clerk, doctor, nurse, pastor, teacher, mayor, etc., by name, and most will know us by name.
We can take a walk, jog, bike ride or car ride and inevitably someone will acknowledge us.
Most of us still feel safe and don’t live in a daily state of fear.
We have the opportunity to enjoy a wonderful park system and places such as The Ritz Theatre, Seneca County Museum, Tiffin Glass Museum, Civil War museum and others.
We have a vast array of educational opportunities, from preschool through college and more.
We have an assortment of activities, such as sporting events, flea markets, farmers’ markets, festivals, etc.
We have a vast array of churches, with opportunities for people of many different faiths.
We have opportunities to volunteer in some way, shape or form.
These are just a few of the blessings we have. As you can see, all of these blessings involve people in some way. So, may I say that Tiffin is a “people community?”
As the old hymn goes, “Count your blessings, name them one by one. Count your blessings, see what God has done!” What has God done in your life, and are you looking forward to what he will do in the future? Are you looking forward to having a positive impact on our community and those around you? Let’s use God’s blessings by honoring him!
