It’s easy to join the fight vs cancer
The 2017 Relay For Life of Tiffin has a new date, a new time and a new location.
And that’s not all that’s new.
First, the new location: Indoors.
That’s correct, barring tornado warnings, the local Relay For Life — which raises funds for the American Cancer Society — no longer will be at the mercy of the weather. What’s more, that indoor space is at Heminger Center on the Tiffin University campus.
The date has moved to the earliest in the history of the local Relay: May 6. And the time is new, also; it’s set for 11 a.m.-11 p.m.
Again, that’s not all that has changed. Now, those interested in helping raise funds to fight cancer can join the Relay without having a team, and form a fundraising team without attending the Relay.
Groups of friends, family members or coworkers can form Relay teams and raise funds without planning to show up May 6 to walk laps on TU’s indoor track.
Or, individuals can show up May 6 without forming a team. This is an opportunity to see what the Relay For Life is all about. And bring some dollars, if you want; Relay teams will be conducting raffles and other fundraisers on site.
There are well more than 100 types of cancer. That’s part of the reason nearly everyone has a friend, loved one or family member who has or has had the disease.
But there are even more ways to join the fight against cancer. There is a variety of ways to remember loved ones lost to cancer, honor survivors of cancer and raise money to help the American Cancer Society impact the disease locally and globally. And now, the Tiffin Relay For Life is making that more convenient than ever.
