Lyman H. Hemminger
Lyman H. Hemminger, 89, of Tiffin, passed away Monday, Dec. 3, 2018, at his residence.
Lyman was born April 9, 1929, in Green Springs, to Max and Ida (Brittenberg) Hemminger. He married Arlene (Needham) in July 1947, and they later divorced. He then married Ruth I. (Doran) June 2, 1973, in Spencerville, and she preceded him in death April 16 2016.
Survivors include his four children, Lyman (Susan) Hemminger Jr. of Republic, Angela Rodabaugh of Westerville, Colleen (Michael) Drown of Johnstown and Diane (Steven) Egbert of Findlay; eight grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and a sister, Laura Hasselbach of Green Springs.
Lyman was preceded in death by his parents; wife; a granddaughter, Jennifer Hemminger; a great-granddaughter, Eliana Diemer; a brother, Lewis Hemminger; and a sister, Colleen Hemminger.
Lyman was a 1947 graduate of Green Springs High School. He retired from Basic Refractories after 36 years and then went to work for Ohio Lime for eight years. He was a member of Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church, was involved with Heritage Village with his corn grinder making corn meal, very involved with the Tiffin Glass Museum and was an avid trap shooter and hunter.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2018, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, Tiffin.
Funeral for Lyman will begin at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, at the funeral home with the Rev. Gary Hicks officiating. Burial will follow in Pleasant Union Cemetery, Old Fort.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
