Nevin N. ‘Norman’ Fry

Nevin N. “Norman” Fry, 96, of Tiffin, passed away Tuesday morning, Aug. 21, 2018, at Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital, Tiffin.

He was born Aug. 5, 1922, in Bettsville, to Nevin and Leona (Shawl) Fry. He married Eleanor Frankfield Jan. 31, 1948, and she preceded him in death July 9, 2009.

Survivors include his two sons, Phillip (Patricia) Fry of Bettsville and David Fry of Tiffin; a daughter, Beverly Fry of Tiffin; and two grandchildren, Katherine and Nicole Fry of Bettsville.

He also was preceded in death by his parents and a son, Robert Fry, in 1975.

Norman graduated in 1941 from Bettsville High School and attended Heidelberg College. In 1961, he started Fry Foods Inc. with his wife, Eleanor. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, where he volunteered for various boards, and a 35-year member of Tiffin Masonic Lodge No. 77, a member of Scottish Rite Valley of Toledo, Seneca Chapter No. 42, Clinton Council No. 47 and DeMolay Commandery No. 9. Norman loved to work, and enjoyed traveling and walking.

Friends may visit with the family 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory, 236 S. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-2424. Masonic services will be conducted at 7:45 p.m.

His funeral and burial will be private.
