Katherine R. Baxter
Katherine R. Baxter, 75, of Tiffin, passed away Friday afternoon, Aug. 17, 2018, at St. Francis Home.
She was born to Thomas Gail and Carolyn (Arnold) Reigle March 1, 1943. She married Robert Baxter April 2, 1966, and he survives.
Other survivors include a daughter, Leah (Steve) Bechtol of Ashland; a son, Miles Baxter of Tiffin; four grandchildren, Wyatt, Mira, Hadley and Hazel Bechtol; two brothers, Dennis (Patty) Reigle of Danville, California, and Bill Reigle of Cincinnati; and brother and sister-in-law, Paul (Connie) Baxter and Mary Cathern (Paul) Blackburn, all of Canton.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Kathy graduated from Glenwood High School, Canton, in 1961, attended her undergraduate work at Heidelberg College in 1965, and finished her master’s degree in speech pathology from The Ohio State University in 1968. She worked as a speech pathologist in Alaska, Arizona and The Betty Jane Center, Tiffin, for more than 40 years, and later retired from Tiffin Developmental Center. She was a member and past elder of First Presbyterian Church. Kathy was passionate about League of Women Voters and the friendships she made with her book group over many years.
Her service will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, at First Presbyterian Church, 96 S. Monroe St., Tiffin, OH 44883 with the Rev. Katie Treadway officiating.
Friends may visit with the family from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral Wednesday at the church. A luncheon will follow the service at the church. Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory is assisting the family.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the scholarship fund at First Presbyterian Church.
