Georgianne Baker, 91, of Wharton, died at 8:05 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018, at Wyandot County Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation.
She was born July 27, 1927, in Wharton to Jack and Cletus (Plott) Bristoll. Georgianne married Herbert W. Baker March 27, 1947, and he preceded her in death Nov. 10, 2016.
Mrs. Baker is survived by her four sons, Dennis (Diane) Baker of Tiffin, Steven Baker of Carey, David Baker of Wharton and James (Terry) Baker of Upper Sandusky; four grandchildren, Denise (Benjamin) Wells, Zachary (Wendi) Baker, Tyler Baker and Trista Baker; six great-grandchildren, Makala Wells, Emma Wells, Miranda Wells, Isabella Wells, Alana Wells and Madelynn Baker; and a sister, Karleen Kelly of Bonita Springs, Florida.
She graduated from Wharton High School and was a homemaker. She was an active member of Beech Grove Wesleyan Church. Georgianne had worked as a laborer for Westinghouse and for Wharton School in the cafeteria. Mrs. Baker also worked for the board of elections for the Republican Party. Georgianne and Herbert enjoyed working and helping with the Wharton Festival. After retirement, she traveled with her husband, spent time with the grandchildren and adored her cats.
A graveside service will begin at noon Thursday, Aug. 23, 2018, in Wharton Richland Union Cemetery, with the Rev. Denny Livingston officiating.
