Richard Lee Hirsch
Richard Lee Hirsch, 90, residing in Fremont, died Wednesday, July 18, 2018, in ProMedica Memorial Hospital, Fremont.
He was born Dec. 6, 1927, in Van Wert, to Louie J. and Goldie Mae (King) Hirsch.
He is survived by his three children, Bruce (Barbara) Hirsch of Columbus, Sharon (Joe) Lee of Bettsville and Bonnie (Thomas) Garner of Oak Harbor; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Donna Marie Hirsch, Jan. 11, 2018; his parents; and a sister, Nora Scott.
Richard was a U.S. Navy veteran. He retired from Ford Motor Co. after 36 years of service. He was skilled at lathe and mechanical work and utilized those skills at Browns-Lakeside Marina. He was a creative and very talented woodworker. He enjoyed building things around the house and for his family.
He was an avid hunter and fisherman. During retirement he raised and bred Paso Fino horses and loved his Jack Russell terrier, Molly. He enjoyed family vacations and spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Private family services will take place at a later date.
