Richard ‘Dick’ L. Payne

Richard “Dick” L. Payne died Tuesday, May 8, 2018.

He was born Jan. 8, 1932, in Mount Clemens, Michigan. He married Suzanne Maloney, who survives him.

As a Navy Corpsman, he served with the 1st Marine Division in Korea in 1952-53, where he received a Purple Heart after being wounded in action.

He also is survived by a daughter, Liann (Phil) Payne Arnold of Eatonville, Washington; a son, Michael Payne of Mammoth Lakes, California; a sister, Deborah (Doug) Snyder of Findlay; and a brother, Browning Payne of Fostoria.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Cynthia Ann Dauterman.

His memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, May 19, at New Tacoma Cemetery’s Chambers Creek Chapel, 9221 Chambers Creek Road W, University Place, Washington.
