Larry 'Pat' Bland

Larry "Pat" Bland, 75, of Bascom, died Friday, Jan. 6, 2017, at Eden Springs Healthcare Center, Green Springs. He was born Aug. 1, 1941, in Carey, to Paul and Janet (Cornely) Bland. Pat first married Sandra Sue Tarbox, and they divorced. He then married Catherine Bland April 25, 1970, and she died March, 22, 1991. Pat also married Sandy Bland and they later separated. Pat also is survived by a son, Kevin Bland of Toledo; a daughter, Jenniser Bland-Garland of Findlay; two stepsons, Mark Tarbox of Findlay and George Bentz; four stepdaughters, Kathy Tanner, Linda Drown, Sharon Humphrey and Sheryl Bentz; four grandchildren, Austin, Paul, Amanda and Sabrina; and five nieces, Joyce Phillips, Kathy Pressler, Kris Collins, Paula Herman and Teresa Lucius. He also was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Paul "Bob" Bland. Pat Retired from the U.S. government where he worked as a federal safety inspector. He was a U.S. Army veteran and graduate of Carey High School. Pat was a member of SS Patrick and Andrew Parish, Bascom, Carey American Legion, Carey VFW and Fostoria United Sportsmen Club. He was proud to be a member of the Auxiliary Highway State Patrol for more than 30 years. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 10, 2017, at SS Patrick and Andrew, Bascom, with Father Timothy Kummerer officiating. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9, 2017, at Harrold-Floriana Funeral Home, Fostoria. Burial will be at a later date. Memorials can be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
