Patricia (Hunt) Detterman
Patricia Detterman, of Willard, passed away peacefully July 5, 2014, at Stein Hospice Center in Sandusky, following a brief illness. Patricia was born Nov. 10, 1941 in Williamson, West Virginia, to Steve and Evelyn Hunt. She graduated from Bloomville High School and had lived in rural north central Ohio most of her life. Patricia was a beloved and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She remained a cornerstone of the family farm since 1961 and was a 4-H adviser, child caregiver, office caretaker and member of Grace United Methodist Church. She especially enjoyed caring for children, camping, sewing and farming. Patricia had a warm chat and a reassuring smile for everyone.
She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Don E. Detterman; sons, Michael and Douglas (Linda); daughter, Tamara (Stephen) Niese; and grandchildren, Kristin, Natalie, Keaton, Nicholas and Alexander. Also surviving are her twin brother David (Judy) Hunt, brother Wilson (Darlene) Hunt and a special cousin and his wife, Dennis (Rita) Cisco.
She was preceded in death by daughter, Deb; her parents; and brother Fielden Hunt, wife Sharon and son Stevie.
Family and friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, July 7 at the Lindsey Olds Funeral Home in Bloomville. Melvin Sayler, Chaplan, will officiate funeral ceremonies at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 8. A private burial service will be held at Scott Cemetery in Huron where Patricia will be laid to rest alongside her daughter Deb.
