Juanita F. West

Juanita F. West, 80, of Tiffin, passed away at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, May 29, 2014, at St. Francis Home, Tiffin.

Juanita was born Jan. 12, 1934, in Morgantown, West Virginia, to Lester Sr. and Zella (Kirby) Shelton. She was a 1951 graduate of East Fairmont High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Edward Lee West, June 18, 1951, in Fairmont, West Virginia. He preceded her in death Oct. 29, 2009.

Also surviving are four children, Dave (Mary) West of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Tina (Jim) Snyder of Fostoria, Candy (Todd) Gitcheff of Tiffin and Kelly (Marc) Coffman of Kenton; six grandchildren, Tammy Coss, Kasi and Eddie West, Tanner and Paige Gitcheff and Maggie Snyder; and eight great-grandchildren, Dustin Immele, Bailey and Katelyn Coss and Christian, Nicholas, Matthew, Jacob and Luke West.

Also preceding her in death were her parents; two brothers, Edward Shelton and Lester Shelton Jr.; and two sisters, Bernadine Smith and Maxine Shelton.

Juanita was a member of New Beginnings Assembly of God Church. She retired from Secrets Restaurant, Tiffin, and also worked as a secretary at Tiffin Glass House.

She was known for her award-winning baking skills, her pies and the love she had for her grandchildren. She catered with her husband for Hardware Inn and Secrets Restaurant and took pride in babysitting her grandchildren. She enjoyed spending time with her husband, children and especially her grandchildren.

She was a loving, patient person who will be greatly missed by her many family and friends.

Visitation for family and friends will be 10-11 a.m. Monday, June 2, 2014, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home & Crematory, 135 N. Washington St., Tiffin, OH 44883, (419) 447-1221, with graveside services immediately following at Fairmont Cemetery, Tiffin.
