Leon Sumner, 77, of Clyde, died Tuesday, Dec. 3, 2013, at his home.
Mr. Sumner was born March 30, 1936, in Ulvah, Ky., to Roy and Gonnie (Pratt) Sumner.
Survivors include his companion, Lucy Bush; eight children, Leon Lee (Pam) Sumner of Clyde, Christine Sue Sumner and Kandy Kaye Sumner, both of Fremont, Wanda Gail (Mike) Nobles of Marysville, Lonnie Joe Sumner of Bryan, Larry Gene (Dawn) Sumner of Clyde, Robin Lynn (Dave) Sumner of Sebring, Fla., and Lana Gay (Ben) Laurendeau of Avon; 19 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; two sisters, DeWan Cheatham of Clyde and Glenda Widman of Tiffin; and one brother, Donnie Sumner of Green Springs.
Mr. Sumner was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Adrian “Chuck” Sumner and Loyall “Poon” Sumner; and a grandson.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 5, at Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, 218 S. Main St., Clyde.
His funeral will begin at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Gerhardt Gosnell officiating. Burial will follow at York Chapel Cemetery, Clyde.
