Michael T. Weiker

Michael T. Weiker, 63, formerly of Fostoria, passed away suddenly Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, in Yukon Territory, Canada.

He was born Sept. 10, 1949, in Fostoria, to Isaac and Rita (Babb) Weiker. He married Carolyn Kirkwood May 12, 1972, at St. Wendelin Catholic Church, Fostoria, and she survives in Shelby Township, Mich.

Also surviving are two children, Matthew (Laura) Weiker of Sterling Heights, Mich., and Michelle (Jack) Enen of New Haven, Mich.; four grandchildren, Annastasia, Bronwyn, Jack and Peyton; a brother, Patrick (Debra) Weiker of Risingsun; and a sister, Brenda (Carson Myer) Weiker of Tiffin.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Connie Sue Weiker.

Mike was a 1967 graduate of Lakota High School. He retired from General Dynamics Land Systems, Sterling Heights, Mich., after 30 years of service. He was a United States Marine Corps veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. He also was a lifetime member of the Old Settlers VFW Post 4659 and The Marine Corp League. He was a motorcycle enthusiast and enjoyed golfing and watching his grandchildren play baseball/softball, as well as rooting for the Buckeyes.

Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at Hoening Funeral Home, 242 W. Tiffin St., Fostoria, OH 44830, where a Christian wake service will be at 7:45 p.m.

Burial, with military honors, will take place at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 26, at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, Rittman.
