Edward E. “Gene” Stover, 73, of Tiffin, died at 12:42 a.m., Friday, Jan. 18, 2013, at Mercy St. Vincent Medical Center in Toledo.
Gene was born Nov. 7, 1939, in rural Republic, to Ralph and Marie (Williams) Stover. He married Kathleen (Huffman) and they later divorced. She survives in Tiffin.
Other survivors include his daughter, Ashleigh (Scott) Gilbert of Tiffin; three stepchildren, Lori Brisendine, Michelle Vaughn and Amy Crist, all of Tiffin; 11 grandchildren; and two brothers, Donald Stover of rural Old Fort and John Stover of Melbourne, Fla.
Gene was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, James Stover; and a sister, Joan Stuckey.
Gene retired from Atlas Crankshaft. He enjoyed OSU, sports of all kinds and spending time with his grandchildren.
A memorial service is at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Jan. 25, at Engle-Shook Funeral Home and Crematory in Tiffin. There will be no visitation. Burial will follow Friday’s service at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, with military honors by the United Veterans Council.
