Junk cars no more in Sycamore
SYCAMORE — Councilman Chris Clinger addressed attendees of Tuesday night’s Sycamore Village Council meeting regarding the housing committee meeting two weeks prior to address several complaints of violations of the village’s new junk car ordinance.
“The village has received several complaints and the village solicitor has sent out letters to the owners of those properties,” Clinger said. “Right now, we are waiting on the property owners to take action and we hope that it will not be necessary for the village to take additional action.”
Sycamore fire chief reported that the fire department spent $1,800 to buy three new hose nozzles and repaired another two damaged ones. He also said that the fire department may add a full-time position because between the fire department and EMS, they are averaging over a call out per day.
Darcy Zimmerman announced that the village has openings if anyone would like to donate free swim days or pizza at the pool during the summer.
