Woman scammed out of $20,000

A North Sandusky Street woman was scammed out of $20,000, according to a Tiffin Police Department report.

About 6 p.m. Sunday, a man at the police station reported his mother was involved in a scam that started in November.

She was scammed out of $20,000 online through Amazon and iTunes gift cards, the report states.

Man indicted

A Fremont man was indicted by a Seneca County grand jury.

Aaron K. Sewell, 60, was charged with possession of cocaine, a third-degree felony, court records state.

Information sought

Seneca County Prosecutor Derek DeVine has received notice of a hearing for Kenneth C. Osborne for murder, rape and kidnapping.

The hearing is to be around March.

Sirens to be tested

FOSTORIA — The city of Fostoria is to test the outdoor warning sirens for some service repairs Thursday.

The test is to be conducted beginning at 10 a.m. and may include several tests until 11 a.m.

It would be canceled should there be severe weather.

Next in Kinship Care

series set for today

Tiffin-Seneca Public Library is to host the next event in the Kinship Care series, “Emotional/Behavioral Well Being,” today in the Frost Kalnow Room. Dinner is to be served at 6 p.m. and the program is to begin at 6:30.

The Kinship Care series is to provide information and support for grandparents and other relatives caring for grandchildren or young family members.

Children living in families with substance abuse or other problems often experience trauma that can result in emotional and behavioral issues. Mental health and children’s services professionals will discuss these issues and what resources are offered in Seneca County.

Supervised activities are to be available in the Junior Library for preschool age and older. Infants and children in diapers would remain with their caregivers. This event is free and registration is not required.
