Tiffin BOE elects Gase president, Widman VP
Dr. Andrew Gase was elected president of the Tiffin City Board of Education for calendar year 2019 at an organizational meeting of the board Tuesday. Chris Widman was elected vice president.
The board approved a number of standing authorizations recommended by Superintendent Gary Barber Tuesday night as well. The board established the Board Service Fund for 2019 at $12,000 and agreed to act as the financial agent for state and federal programs.
The board approved Treasurer Sharon Perry to pay bills on behalf of the board and to review and approve ‚Äúthen and now‚Äù certificates at hand. Operations Director Scott Daniel was appointed purchasing agent.
For legal counsel, the board chose Bricker & Eckler, LLP; Freund, Freeze & Arnold; Squire Patton Boggs; Scott Scriven, LLP; and Supance & Howard.
The board authorized Barber to employ temporary personnel as needed, and to act as the board‚Äôs agent for federal, state and privately-funded projects.
The board also approved its meeting schedule for 2019. The board will continue to meet on the fourth Tuesday of every month, with the exception of December, during which it will meet on the third Tuesday.
The next regular meeting Jan. 22 at 7 p.m. in the Tiffin Middle School Cafetorium.
