Carey man cited after accident

NEW RIEGEL — A Carey man was charged after an accident on West Tiffin Street Wednesday night. Trooper Jake Mellinger of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said Micheal Williams, 33, was traveling west on West Tiffin Street in a 2003 Dodge Neon when he went off the right side of the road, struck a sign and came back on the road. Williams's Neon then went back off the right side of the road, jumped a culvert, struck a utility pole and a gas line pole before coming to a rest in a field, he said. Mellinger said Williams was transported by NBS EMS District to Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Williams was charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, driving under suspension and failure to control, he said. Williams was wearing a seatbelt, Mellinger said. The accident was reported at 8:10 p.m. and NBS EMS District, NBS Fire District, the Echo unit, State Highway Patrol, Seneca County Sheriff's Office and Reinhart Auto Body responded to the scene.
