Six injured when vehicle lands in creek near Clyde
CLYDE — Six people were injured in an accident on CR 213 just west of Clyde Saturday night.
According to a release from the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol, Melissa Leiby, 33, of Fremont, was traveling west on CR 213 in a 2006 Dodge Durango with passengers, Brayden Cruz, 8, of Bellevue; Madison Turpin, 8, of Clyde; Dillon Turpin, 12, of Clyde; Camden Woessner, 12, of Fremont; Amarii Sinclair, 2, of Bellevue; and Domanic Turpin, 11, of Clyde. Leiby drove off the left side of the road, and her vehicle struck a culvert and landed in a creek, the release states.
The release states Leiby is suspected to have been impaired during the accident.
Brayden Cruz was transported to Mercy Health — St. Vincent Medical Center with incapacitating injuries and Sinclair was transported to Mercy Health — St. Vincent Medical Center with serious injuries, it states. Madison Turpin was transported to ProMedica The Toledo Hospital with incapacitating injuries, it states.
The release states Woessner was transported to ProMedica Memorial Hospital with incapacitating injuries. Dillon Turpin was transported to ProMedica Memorial Hospital with possible injuries and Leiby was transported to ProMedica Memorial Hospital with non-incapacitating injuries, it states. Domanic Turpin was not injured, it states.
According to the release, Sinclair was not properly restrained at the time of the accident, but everybody else was wearing seatbelts.
The accident was under investigation Sunday evening.
The accident was reported at 10 p.m.
