REPUBLIC — Fatheads Restaurant will be returning to its 1993 prices starting today in celebration of 25 years in business.

Specials include Bud Light draft beer for 75 cents and a Fathead burger and fries for $6, dine in only.

Specials also include a chance to enter to win a gift certificate with purchase.

The restaurant, at 216 Washington St., Republic, is owned by Patty Mattson and her husband, Dennis.

“It has been great,” Mattson said. “I’ve met great people and great employees over the years.”

Mattson said her son, Chad Mattson, soon is to take over as she plans to retire.

“I’ll still plan on working in the background, but it is time to go,” she said.

Over the years, Mattson said she has worked with many family members, being one of 11 children. She now is working with great nieces.

All the food is made from scratch, including their own pizza dough, fresh steaks and burger patties.

The restaurant wasn’t something that was on her radar, Mattson said, but it turned out to be a great journey.
