A man was cited after his vehicle struck a house at 6821 S. SR 53 Thursday morning.

Trooper Richard Donovan of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said Adam Barto, 31, of Tiffin, was traveling south on South SR 53 in a 2005 Dodge Stratus. Sgt. Mike Walter of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said the vehicle went off the left side of the road, struck a tree, drove across two driveways and struck another tree. It continued into the yard at 6821 S. SR 53 and struck a bush, a well, and a light post before striking the attached garage, rotating and coming to rest, he said.

The property is owned by Stephan and Cora Hepp, according to Seneca County Auditor’s Office website. Walter said an owner was outside at the time of the accident. Nobody was injured in the accident, he said.

Walter said he did not have a total loss estimate for the property damage.

Donovan said Barto was cited with failure to control and seatbelt.

The accident was reported at 11:54 a.m. and NBS EMS District, Sycamore Volunteer Fire Department, the Echo unit, State Highway Patrol and Reinhart Auto Body responded to the scene.
