BLOOMVILLE — Bloomville Mayor Dave Auble Jr. introduced Richard Vaughn as the new member on the council Tuesday evening. Village Solicitor Tim Hoover administered the oath of office to Vaughn.

Special visitors were in the village over the Labor Day weekend. Joel Beeghly, Ann Beeghly, Marjorie Beeghly Wasek and Barbara Beeghly Fox, for whose family the village park is named, toured the park and community. They shared many stories and memories as Darin Brown, water and sewer superintendent, ushered them about the village. They stopped by Bliss Memorial Public Library to reminisce. Auble shared a thank-you card from the family members.

Officer in charge Don Holmer said he has started updating the department’s policies and procedures with assistance from the Public Entity Pool members. He hopes to accomplish the task by November.

Auble desires better communication with residents. He encouraged council members to engage with the community and enquire about needs.

Street Superintendent Rick Dentinger reported several individuals fulfilling community service hours have painted hydrants. He said the basketball hoop has been relocated at the old tennis court at the park.

Estimates are being acquired for trimming several trees next year and black top work at the municipal building.
