Mark Steinmetz (right) of the Seneca County Museum along with Todd Kleismit (left) of Ohio History Connection unveiled the Ohio Historical Marker Thursday morning dedicating Rezin Shawhan, Tiffin’s first millionaire.

The Rezin Hawhan home — site of the Seneca County Museum — was built in 1853 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1979. The Ohio Historical Marker was obtained through a grant from the William G. Pomeroy Foundation, which was applied for by Seneca County Historical Society.

As of Thursay, there are 1,600 historical markers in Ohio.
