Two Tiffin residents were hurt in an accident at US 224 and CR 7 Tuesday afternoon.

Trooper Mark Sorg of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said Jasmin E. Levengood, 18, was driving a 2009 Ford F-150 north on CR 7 and was attempting to turn west onto US 224. Ernest A. Botton, 67, was driving a 2008 Ford F-150 west on US 224, he said.

Sorg said Levengood failed to yield from a stop sign and was struck by Botton’s F-150. Levengood said she stopped and didn’t see the other vehicle, Sorg said.

Botton’s truck went off the right side of the road and struck a stop sign, and Levengood’s truck went off the right side of the road and struck a ditch.

Sorg said Levengood and Botton had non-life-threatening injuries and were taken by Bascom EMS to Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital. They were wearing seatbelts, he said.

Levengood was cited with failure to yield from a stop sign, he said.

Personnel from Bascom EMS, Bascom Joint Fire District, the county’s Echo unit and State Highway Patrol responded to the scene of the accident, which occurred about 12:30 p.m.
