Tiffin Ace Hardware to be sold
Store to become Great Lakes Ace Hardware
Great Lakes Ace Hardware announced Wednesday it has entered into an agreement to acquire Tiffin Ace Hardware in Tiffin, owned and operated by the Deats family. The acquisition is to be finalized in late March.
“The Tiffin Hardware family has been serving Tiffin and the surrounding communities for over 57 years,” Bryan Deats stated in a release. “We have worked together with our team to ensure that Tiffin Hardware supports and serves those communities, and we are proud of those accomplishments.
“We are pleased to be passing ownership over to Great Lakes Ace Hardware as their excellent reputation, shared values and focus on continuity assures us that our team and community will continue to be well served.”
While Jim and Marilyn Deats are to retire, Bryan has accepted a position with Great Lakes Ace Hardware that includes overseeing operations in Tiffin as well as Great Lakes Ace in Fostoria, which is to open this month.
According to Mark Vandenberg, president of Great Lakes Ace, “We are committed to retaining the Tiffin Hardware associates who are familiar faces to the customers in Tiffin and the surrounding communities.
“There will be a transition to some new and exciting products including nationally recognized brands,” Vandenberg stated. “However, customers should expect to experience the same exceptional service to which they have been accustomed.”
“We are thrilled to expand into the Tiffin area and look forward to continuing Tiffin Hardware’s tradition of customer service and community involvement,” he stated. “Our company vision is to improve lives and communities and we do that by going above and beyond to serve our customers. In a time when customers have more options than ever before, this is the bedrock fueling our growth.”
Great Lakes Ace Hardware began operation in Dearborn, Michigan, in 1946. It has been part of the Ace Hardware Cooperative since 2014.
