Two charged with trafficking in cocaine

Two people who had been arrested in November in robbery and drug investigations were indicted by a Seneca County grand jury.

Meagon C.L. Jonas, 28, of Tiffin, and Nicholas R. Butler, 28, of Clinton Township, Michigan, each were charged with trafficking in cocaine, a fourth-degree felony.

The grand jury specified the alleged offenses were committed in the vicinity of Calvert Elementary School, according to their indictments.

About 1 a.m. Nov. 22, a man at 28 Virginia Ave. reported to Tiffin Police Department he had been assaulted after 10 p.m. He reported people from Detroit pushed in his door and beat him in his basement, a police report states.

The robbery investigation led officers to 382 S. Washington St., Apt. B, which is Jonas’ residence.

Tiffin Police Department and Seneca County Drug Task Force — METRICH Enforcement Unit executed a drug-related search warrant at the apartment.

Butler, who is known as “Bishop,” already was indicted on charges of aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony, and robbery, a second-degree felony, court records state.

Also, Zackery T. Neff, 24, of Tiffin, was charged with complicity to aggravated burglary, a first-degree felony, and complicity to robbery, a second-degree felony.
