Donations sought for 2 fire victims
CLYDE — A church is collecting financial donations for victims of a house fire south of McCutchenville.
Lisa Stock, 34, reported the house at 1990 SR 53 was on fire at 12:45 a.m. Jan. 6, according to Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office.
Lisa got her daughter, Alana Stock, 1, out of the house through a window, and Sgt. Brandon Kromer of Wyandot County Sheriff’s Office got Lisa out through a window.
Shawn Stock, 37, was found in the residence and pronounced dead at the scene, and his daughter, Avery Stock, 2, was pronounced dead at Wyandot Memorial Hospital. Their funeral was Friday.
The Stock family had joined Harvest Baptist Temple, Clyde, in September 2009, according to information from the Rev. Allen Holmes, senior pastor.
An account has been sent up through the church. Donations can be sent to Harvest Baptist Temple, 1022 S. Main St., PO Box 263, Clyde, OH 43410, and “Stock Family” should be noted in the memo.
“They were a very loving family. Shawn absolutely adored his wife and daughters,” Holmes said in a statement. “They were faithful believers who loved their lord and savior Jesus Christ. Shawn loved to sing for the lord. He used his gift of singing both in church and for nursing home ministry. He and Avery would even sing together in the nursing home services.”
A benefit for Lisa and Alana is scheduled for noon-8 p.m. Jan. 20 at Plank Road Tavern, 236 SR 53, McCutchenville. Clothing, food and other donations are to be accepted.
