$15,000 damage in afternoon fire | Advertiser-Tribune No one was hurt in a house fire on Colony Avenue Thursday evening. Chief Kevin Veletean of Tiffin Fire Rescue Division said the fire, at 3 Colony Ave., was reported as a grease fire in the kitchen of the home. "When (firefighters) arrived, they found smoke coming from the back of the house," he said. He said the fire started because a woman was cooking oil at a high temperature on a stove. Veletean said firefighters kept the blaze contained to the kitchen. Veletean estimated damage at $15,000.
