Clyde woman dies in crash
A Clyde woman was killed in a two-vehicle accident in Sandusky County’s Green Creek Township Saturday morning.
Judith Hansen, 69, was taken by Life Flight from the scene of the accident at SR 19 and CR 181 to University of Toledo Medical Center, where she died, according to a release from State Highway Patrol.
The release states Hansen was driving a 2010 Ford Focus westbound on CR 181. A 2004 Dodge Caravan was being driven northbound on SR 19 by Alyson Johnson, 25, of Fremont.
Hansen failed to yield the right of way from a stop sign and drove into the path of the Dodge Caravan, according to the release. The Dodge Caravan struck the Ford Focus, and both vehicles traveled off the northwest corner of the intersection.
The Dodge Caravan overturned and came to rest on its left side, according to the release.
Johnson was taken to Fremont Memorial Hospital. A passenger in her vehicle, Talytha Mehaley Nikkole Blanton Elick, 20, of Fremont, first was taken to Fremont Memorial Hospital and then was taken by Life Flight to ProMedica Toledo Hospital, according to the release.
A ProMedica Toledo Hospital spokeswoman said Elick was in fair condition Saturday afternoon.
All of the occupants were wearing seatbelts and alcohol was not a factor in the accident, according to the release.
Green Springs EMS and fire and Life Squad 18 personnel assisted at the scene.
The crash, which occurred at 7:20 a.m., was under investigation Saturday afternoon.
