Students operate hospital’s Bistro
Mercy Tiffin Hospital and the Seneca County Opportunity Center have announced a partnership that allows the Opportunity Center to operate the Bistro, thus providing their students and clients with training and employment opportunities.
“Mercy welcomes the Seneca County Opportunity Center as our newest campus partner,” said Lynn Detterman, president and CEO, Mercy Rural Division. “This partnership will result in extended service hours for both the Bistro and the Wolf Creek Cafe at Mercy Tiffin Hospital, and allows Mercy to provide employment opportunities for community members.”
The Opportunity Center opened the Bistro for service Feb. 18. It is to be open 6:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. To complement the Bistro’s operating hours, Mercy’s Wolf Creek Cafe also began new operating hours Feb. 16. The Cafe is open 7 a.m.-6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Breakfast runs 7-9:30 a.m.; lunch is served 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.; and dinner is 4 p.m.-6:30 p.m.
The Wolf Creek Cafe also is open 7 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday and Sunday with breakfast and lunch served at the same times as weekdays.
Under the Opportunity Center’s leadership, the Bistro continues to offer Starbucks products and made-to-order food options. A new name for the Bistro is being developed through a contest among Opportunity Center employees. The Opportunity Center’s grand reopening of the Bistro is being planned for a day this month.
