Alleged robber pleads not guilty

A 19-year-old man accused of robbing a Fostoria gas station last month appeared in court Friday afternoon, when he pleaded not guilty to an aggravated robbery charge.

Dakota M. Sharninghouse, of Bowling Green, who was indicted on the first-degree felony earlier this month for allegedly robbing Circle K, 551 E. Lytle St., at gunpoint Feb. 27, also had his bond modified Friday from $500,000 with 10 percent surety allowed to $50,000 with 10 percent surety by Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Michael Kelbley.

Feb. 27, Sharninghouse allegedly entered Circle K, pointed a gun at the clerk and demanded money. Sharninghouse then fled from the store with $190, police said.

He was arrested in Wood County after turning himself in the next day.

The alleged getaway driver, Zackary T. Spires, 20, of Fostoria, is facing a first-degree felony charge of complicity to aggravated robbery in Seneca County Common Pleas Court. Last week, he pleaded not guilty to the charge.
