Man sentenced for sex-related crime

A Tiffin man convicted of pandering obscenity involving a minor and illegal use of a minor in nudity-oriented material was sentenced last week to three years of community control.

Michael A. Ford, 42, who pleaded guilty to the charges in November, also was sentenced by Seneca County Common Pleas Court Judge Steve Shuff to 90 days in jail and ordered to undergo counseling and random drug and alcohol testing, according to court documents.

Ford also is to remain employed, consume no alcohol and register as a Tier II sex offender.

According to court documents, the adult parole authority may monitor Ford’s use of the Internet.

Ford had been indicted on the two charges for buying, procuring, possessing or controlling obscene material that has a minor as one of its participants in January 2012.

He also possessed or viewed material or a performance that shows a minor in a graphic state of nudity, the indictment states.
