Two charged after GW’s break-in
A former employee of GW’s Fine Food and Spirits and her boyfriend were arrested by Tiffin Police Department Monday for allegedly breaking into the restaurant.
Kristen A. Wood, 23, and Antony B. Ryon, 25, both of Tiffin, were charged with breaking and entering, a fifth-degree felony, Detective Lt. Mark Marquis said.
“Additional charges are pending,” he said.
They were arrested and incarcerated at Seneca County Jail. They likely will have an initial appearance in Tiffin Municipal Court Wednesday, he said.
Marquis said officers responded to the restaurant, 275 S. Washington St., for a report of a breaking and entering. An employee found the back door had been pried open.
Law enforcement found two locked safes, a laptop computer, an undetermined amount of cash and a hand cart had been stolen from the business, he said.
Marquis said evidence officers discovered pointed to Ryon and Wood as suspects, and a piece of stolen property was located outside of their residence at 25 Frost Parkway, Apt. A.
A search warrant executed at their residence unveiled additional stolen property, he said.
Marquis said both suspects were questioned and admitted to being involved in the breaking and entering. Additional people are believed to be involved, he said.
The incident was reported about 4:30 a.m. Monday, according to a police department report.
