Grainger donates $10,000 to Honor Flight
The Grainger Foundation has donated $10,000 to Honor Flight Northwest Ohio to support its mission of?honoring American veterans.
- “This grant will be used to take World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam veterans to Washington, D.C.,” said Lee Armstrong, president of Honor Flight Northwest Ohio, in a press release issued by Honor Flight Northwest Ohio. “We honor our veterans by giving them an opportunity to see their memorials in the nation’s capital. We are grateful to The Grainger Foundation for its generosity.”?
According to the release, the organization has conducted 30 flights, safely escorting 1,520 veterans. Honor Flight Northwest Ohio has more than 500 veterans on its waiting list.
- This donation was recommended by Jack Hoagland, branch manager of W.W. Grainger Inc.’s Perrysburg location. Grainger has been a part of the northwest Ohio business community for more than 35 years as the leading broad line supplier of maintenance, repair and operating products.
The Grainger Foundation, an independent, private foundation based in Lake Forest, Ill., was established in 1949 by William W. Grainger, founder of W.W. Grainger Inc.
